The Design and Development Engineer will require a PhD or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and experience in programming in C, C++ and microprocessor/DSP assembly languages. You will also need hands on design experience of digital electronics subsystem using tools required for microprocessor, microprocessor peripheral, memory, high speed ADC, PAL, FPGA, and gate array development. Experience of the complete life cycle from interpretation of a requirements specification through design, development, debugging and documentation, to design proving and certification is also required. You will also be PC literate (MS Word, Excel, Access).
Familiarity with microprocessor architecture and applications and DSP architecture and applications would also be desirable. Experience in linear phase filters and adaptive filters and/or in data transmission using USB, Bluetooth and Zigbee would also be useful. Ideally you should also have fluency in engineering software applications including Mathcad and LabVIEW; GUI experience; familiarity with basic website design (coding and search engine optimisation) and knowledge of basic optical instrument design.
You must be able to work on your own or as part of a small team. You should possess good verbal and written communications and presentation skills. You will be a team player with a ‘can do' attitude who is able to take responsibility and use your own initiative.
This job is based at their offices in High Wycombe and will involve field trials in various other locations.
