We are now seeking a Control and Power Engineer to join this large oil refinery based in the North East.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Instrumentation, Control and Electrical maintenance on a specific area of the Refinery and managing specific electrical/instrumentation reliability problems and modifications.

Safety focused, your key responsibilities will include the maximization of equipment reliability, management of technicians, control of maintenance budgets, providing technical support to maintenance contractors, spares management and ensuring maintenance work is efficiently executed. You will ensure maintenance is carried out in accordance with the relevant procedures and engineering standards and participate in the reliability programme for longer-term technical problems.

You will possess a degree or equivalent in Instrument or Electrical Engineering, with a good level of relevant experience within a refining/chemical environment or similar industry. You will be a self-starter with a practical approach to problem solving and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. A working knowledge of IEC 61511 and the DSEAR regulations would be an advantage.
